Pitchees from Pitch Fest 2019

CDs back in vogue, the future of podcasting, a cooperative farmers market, using water wisely and making Goulburn a pet friendly City.
Pitchfest 2019, held on Tuesday night at the Collective, saw 5 local entrepreneurs pitch innovative business ideas to an expert panel of judges. The event, held by Goulburn Region Innovation Network, is in its second year after a huge launch in 2018 as part of NSW Small Business Month.
Thom Gascoigne of Da Hub was determined as the winner of Pitchfest for 2019. Da Hub sells hard to find, vintage vinyl records and CDs online and is looking to expand their start up. Thom took home a $500 cash prize, $300 voucher to Revolution print, business mentoring through Southern Region Business Enterprise Centre (SRBEC), a complete marketing plan developed with Purple Thread Marketing, entry into Canberra Innovation Network’s (CBRIN) Lean Startup Bootcamp and free meeting room and hot desk hire at the Co. Workspace.
Following the event, Thom said: “This is a really exciting opportunity for my business and an exciting event for Goulburn. I urge anyone with a desire and an interest to put forward a Pitch for the next Pitch Fest. The prizes are fantastic, it really will boost your ideas and business aspirations to come to fruition. I really would like to thank everyone involved for giving myself and the broader Goulburn community this opportunity to expand and collaborate ideas."
Jen Seyderhelm was awarded runner-up by the judges for her pitch on the future of Podcasting and her plan to begin offering short broadcasting courses around the state. Jen received a $300 voucher to Revolution Print along with business mentoring with the SRBEC and CBRIN.
Zachary Lederhose took out the People’s Choice award for his pitch on transforming Goulburn into a Pet Friendly City, and took home a cash prize of $250 sponsored by the Goulburn Chamber of Commerce.
The judges of Pitchfest 2019 were Darrell Weekes (Purple Thread Marketing), Vanessa Bell (Sarah Jane Bond), Daimon Poole (McDonalds Goulburn) and Marnie Wragge-Morley (The Creative Commune).
Goulburn Region Innovation Network’s members include the Goulburn Chamber of Commerce, Goulburn Mulwaree Council, Regional Development Australia Southern Inland, Southern Region Business Enterprise Centre and BDCU Alliance Bank.
A big thanks to the sponsors of 2019 Pitchfest; Goulburn Post, Radio Goulburn, Co. Workspace, Canberra Innovation Network and Revolution Print.
