To celebrate International Women’s Day, Regional Development Australia Southern Inland (RDA Southern Inland) are hosting a lunch and panel discussion in Bungendore.
The event will be held at local French restaurant, Le Tres Bon on Monday 8th March from 12.30pm. Prior to lunch, a panel discussion will be hosted by RDA Southern Inland CEO, Carisa Wells, with a number of female leaders in business and government across the Southern Inland, including Kristy McBain MP, member for Eden-Monaro, Sarah McDougall, Lake George Winery, Suzanne Gearing, Braidwood Chamber and Jacquelyn Richards, Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council. The topic for the discussion will centre around the theme for International Women's Day, #choosetochallenge.
“We are looking forward to hearing from a number of local female leaders about their journey’s in the workforce and how we can continue to strive for gender equality. This is not just a female issue, it’s an economic issue,” said RDA Southern Inland CEO, Carisa Wells.
“We are delighted to have Kristy McBain, the first female member for Eden-Monaro, join us for the panel.”
A traditional French themed lunch will follow the panel discussion, featuring a glass of champagne on arrival, duck confit and a pear tart.
International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
Ms Wells encouraged locals from across the Southern Inland region to come along to lunch and celebrate.
“This is not just an event for women, we encourage men to come along and join us for some networking, critical thinking and a delicious lunch.”
