Ag Day 2021 - For the Love of Ag

To celebrate Ag Day 2021, we created the short film, For the Love of Ag, to showcase the innovative People, their Practices, and the Programs they utilise to grow some of the highest quality produce right here in the Southern Inland region of NSW.

We’d also like to recognize the contribution leading community and agricultural industry groups make in providing a range of practical, emotional and financial support to our Ag sector.

For the Love of Ag was made possible because of the support of our key partners who facilitate these programs. Thank you!

A look back on previous years

Ag Day 2019

Something a little more extravagant was this year’s aim for our annual celebration of National Ag Day. The dinner celebrated National Ag Day a week early, on the 14th of November, with the aim to raise awareness in the lead up to the National Day.

After previous years of successful and relaxed BBQs, there was change in the air as almost 140 guests were treated to a delightful evening at the Grace-Millsom Function Centre with special guest speaker Glenn McGrath.

Ag Day 2018

Goulburn Ag Day was again held on Wednesday, 21 November, 2018 at the Grace Milsom Function Room from 5.30pm-8pm. In 2018, we celebrated the resilience of our local farmers.

The event included a number of guest speakers discussing the topic of resilience - Samantha Wan, Tara Craig, Charlie Reardon and Bill Johnson

A BBQ with local Dewsburys Pork sausages and live music with Roo Arcus.

Stalls that showcased some local produce from the Southern Tablelands, including Kingsdale Wines, Yarralaw Spring Wines, Bent Shed Produce and Dewsburys Pork.

Lucky door prizes, including a one year annual membership with Tablelands Farming Systems valued at $550, a Lithium Jumpstarter thanks to Goulburn Produce and a $100 Bunnings voucher.

Ag Day 2017

We organised Goulburn’s first ever Ag Day BBQ on the 21st November at the Grace Millsom, with over 100 guests from Goulburn, Yass, Crookwell and the Southern Highlands attending the Ag Day BBQ. The BBQ celebrated Australia’s first ever Ag Day, which included local produce stalls, guest speakers, live music from Jamie Agius and memorabilia looking back on agriculture in the region.

Angus Taylor MP opened the event, focusing on the growth of agriculture in Australia and the exciting future ahead. RDASI Chairman, Mark Schweikert was MC for the night. Speakers for the night were: Matthew Lieschke (Local Land Services), Ted O’Kane (Department of Primary Industries), Mark Hedley (Australian Wool Network) and Kathleen Allen (Sheep Meat Council).

The BBQ comprised local produce only, including Dewsburys Free Range Pork Sausages, with a number of stalls also showcasing local produce from the Southern Tablelands. Photographs and memorabilia were also on display looking back on agriculture in Southern NSW. Live entertainment for the night was from Goulburn local, Jamie Agius.
