On Tuesday and Wednesday night, Regional Development Australia Southern Inland (RDASI) hosted two workshops to assist businesses in developing and managing their own website. There was a positive turnout at Collab Highlands in Bowral, with 16 attending the workshop from a variety of industries, including hospitality, creative arts, retail, accommodation and consulting services.
The first workshop focused on digital marketing and how to engage customers online. This workshop was all about learning to walk before running; Who are your customers? What are you offering? What do you want to communicate? How will you do this?
The second night was where the fun (and headaches) began, with businesses getting to develop their very own website via Squarespace.
Amanda Mackevicius, an author and historical researcher based in the Highlands attended the workshop. Amanda has just completed a commissioned local history publication and thought it was time that she put her business online.
“I really enjoyed the website building workshops and found them very helpful. It was great to have the guidance of skilled professionals and learn valuable tips on both digital marketing and the necessities of building a website with impact.”
As well as the skills and confidence gained from the workshop, Amanda enjoyed the opportunity to make some new connections.
“It was also a good opportunity to learn more about the services offered by the RDASI and the Southern Region Business Enterprise Centre and to network with other small business operators. I may have even picked up a new client!”
