Bungendore Connect a great success for local businesses

The monthly Bungendore Connect meeting was held on Wednesday night at the Food Lovers Market Bungendore. The informal gathering was a great success with businesses from Bungendore and surrounding areas seizing the opportunity to meet other local business people, discuss ways to collaborate and access support.

Camilo Potocnjak-Oxman from STIR in Canberra spoke about their organisation that supports innovative youths by providing them with the skills, tools, exposure and funding to transform their ideas into venture concepts. Camilo praised the relaxed and unique choice of venue.

Sarah McDougall from SummerHill Road Vineyard in Bungendore also spoke about her business and her dreams for running a small vineyard alongside an actively growing family. Sarah has attended three Bungendore Connect meetings and values the opportunity to meet other like-minded business owners.

“What I love about the meetings is networking with other businesses and how we all have the same end goal, it’s also a great support network,” Sarah stated.

The Bungendore Connect meeting last night has already generated new and exciting opportunities for Sarah and her business. “From last night’s meeting, I already have two meetings scheduled with other businesses to talk about ideas,” Sarah stated.

However, Bungendore Connect is not just for businesses in Bungendore. Matt Robertson, from Cycling ACT, came to Bungendore Connect as an outsider to explore opportunities to work with local Bungendore businesses. Matt described the event last night as “a fantastic opportunity to connect with local business people in the region and form meaningful business relationships”.

“I was able to form relationships with many unexpected parties who will be useful contacts for the future”, Matt stated.

Tracey Lamont from Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council also talked about the upcoming Bungendore Shop Local campaign and how businesses can get involved.

Bungendore Connect is proudly supported by Regional Development Australia Southern Inland, the Bungendore Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Queanbeyan Palerang Regional Council.
